Kal Kisne Dekha

Another attempt of a producer to make his son Hero with lot of money spent, international locations, new girl, good supporting starcast but the problem is stiol the same, the right story. So,Nothing exceptional for Kal Kisne Dekha, going on same old track of useless story.
The movie has given complete exposure to Jacky Bhagnanai to show his skills and he is really looks promising. He is a good Dancer and an average actor. But this film doesn't works for him.
But the Father son duo(Vasu and Jacky Bhagnanai) can take a breath of relief as the public will really appriciate Jacky's performance and he may further improve in his next movies.
The heroine is complete waste and there was nothing to do for her.
Rishi Kapoor with his silver hair doesn't look convincing on the screen.
After doing so many films Rahul Dev still haven't learnt the acting.
The music of the film is ok.
The concept of the film reminds us of apna akki(Akshay Kumar),one more hero who can see in the future.Really there is scarcity of stories in the bollywood.
So if you really don’t have any thing great to do in this weekend then you can watch this movie.Jacky looks promising and film is a time-pass

Billu Barber

Billu Barber renamed BILLU is directed by Priyadarshan starring IrMultimediarfan Khan, Lara Dutta and Shahrukh Khan in the main lead with a host of cameos by Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
The movie is about two distinct people one being a barber in a village and another being a superstar. The story is all about friendship between both the characters. The story is all about Billu's (Irrfan) life and his struggle to earn his bread. The story is about Sahir Khan (SRK) and his journey to stardom. Priyadarshan remakes his Kurselan which worked well in the south into BILLU.
The movie is pretty high on entertainment value and the director who has been giving wacky comedies recently gives an emotional movie which is sensible and interesting. There is also a punch of comedy in the movie Rajpal Yadav, Om puri and Asrani have done excellent work.

The music of the movie by Pritam is already superhit and Marjani, Love Mera Hit Hit and You Get Me Rockin and Reeling are the pick of the lot. Priyadarshan has done excellent direction and weaved in two stories perfectly and making the use of glamour and simplicity at the right moment at the right time.

The movie belongs to Irrfan Khan who has time and again proved that he is, if not the best one of the best actors. Lara Dutta also gives a very good performance. SRK does what he has been doing for the last 10 years, being a Superstar but this time on screen although he plays second fiddle here but he provides equal entertainment and the required glamour. The supporting cast is efficient.

On the whole, BILLU is a good movie, which is correctly marketed with a superhit music and an excellent climax. The tale of friendship is the high points of the movie which takes the movie to an all-time high in the last few reels.

JaaneTu Ya Jaane Na

Before we go into the story of the movie we shall have a surface level view on the people who have done an extra ordinary job in making this movie a grand success. The movie is directed and written by Abbas Tyrewala; produced by Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan; and an excellent acting by Imran Khan, Genelia D'Souza, Prateek Babbar; Music by A R Rahman; cinematography by Manoj Lobo; distributed by Aamir Khan Productions and PVR Cinemas.
The movie includes eight different characters which are played by eight teenagers. Imran Khan plays the role of Jai Singh Rathore; Genelia D'Souza as Aditi Wadia; Manjari Fadnis as Meghna; Ayaz Khan as Sushant Modi; Karan Makhija as Rotlu; Sugandha Garg as Shaleen; Nirav Mehta as Jignesh 'Jiggy' Patel; Alishka Varde as Bombs.
The movie starts in the Mumbai International airport where Rotlu, Jiggy, Bombs and Shaleen decide to tell Mala (a character played by Renuka Kunzru), who gets very frustrated on waiting for their beloved friends, Jai and Aditi. Mala is the girl friend of Jiggy. But she does not like the way his friends behave to her. She thinks that every one of them is too boring and they are nothing but a bunch of losers. And when Shaleen understands this she decides to tell the story of Jai and Aditi and the others too accepted for this and they gets very excited except for Mala who was not aware of what she is about to hear.
Rotlu begins the story in Thar Desert in the middle of which a man covered completely in black sleeve would be riding on a horse and near him a table would be there upon which a landline telephone would be constantly ringing. And as the black knight approaches the phone and slashes his sword to cut the phone into two, Jai Singh Rathore wakes up with sweat gleaming all over his face and the telephone will be constantly ringing near him. Jai, a handsome young boy, son of Amar Singh Rathore and Savithri, is the most non-violent man in the world. He hates violence. Jai used to dream every night about the dark knight again and again.
Aditi is the daughter of 'Pumpkin' Wadia (Anuradha Patel) and 'Peachy' Wadia (Jayant Kriplani) and she has a brother named Amit Wadia (Pratiek Babbar). Aditi is a very beautiful girl and she dreams of getting a strong, young, muscular and handsome guy as her life partner while on the other hand, Jai is simply the opposite in this as he hates violence.
By the way they behave, everybody around them thinks that they both are in love. Everybody could feel the love existing between except for Aditi and Jai themselves.
Without having any knowledge that one cannot be happy without the other, those two decide to find a life partner for themselves and their friends too agreed to help for this.
So, one day they both go to a pub and there Jai falls in love with Meghna at his first site. They both fall in love with each other and everybody becomes very happy with it except Aditi. She begins to feel that Jai has gone away from her. And that is where she begins to feel her love for him. But she was not able to tell him since she thinks that she does not want to be an intruder in Jai`s life.
One day Meghna invites Jai to her house for dinner. That day happens to be Aditi`s birthday. Jai decides to finish his dinner as fast as possible and he plans to attend Aditi`s birthday party. But everything goes wrongly. Jai goes to Meghna`s house and there he has a tough having his dinner since Meghna`s father and mother lives a very false life with each other and that they don’t love each other at all. They hate each other so much that they abuse each other so violently and Jai does not like it. Jai becomes aware of Meghna`s situation and he knows that Meghna too lives a life of hell.
Having finished with his dinner, Jai goes to Aditi`s house and he finds that she has celebrated her birthday party with others. She goes very angry on him that she does not want to talk to him.
Jai`s life goes very absurd by the fact that Aditi has stopped talking with him. And that is where he starts to realize the fact that he is in love with Aditi. But things just does not go rightly for him.
One day Jai gets a call from Aditi and she tells him that she is going to get engaged. Without having any further conversation she cuts the call. Jai goes very sad on hearing this and he was not able to express his situation to his mother. He cries the whole night on his mother`s shoulders who understood that Jai loves Aditi.
The next day happens to be Jiggy`s birthday. And that night his house was full of music and entertainment. Aditi comes along with Sushant and Jai comes with Meghna. Both of them express their grievance with their eyes but they were not able to express them since they have chosen a fiancé for themselves and that too, wrongly.
While returning Meghna who became aware of this tells jai that they both should separate and that he has to go and live with Aditi who is the most exact pair for him. On hearing this Jai goes very awkward and he just begins to explain Meghna, who stops him abruptly and gives him a good-bye kiss and she leaves the place.
On the other hand Sushant who comes to know about this asks Aditi politely whether she loves Jai or not. When Aditi tells him that she is confused, Sushant shows her his real face and he hits her to the ground and he leaves the place.
Both Aditi and Jai are now lonely and they are not able to express their grievance to themselves. One day both Aditi and Jai meet on the sea shore where they used to be along with their friends. And that is where they both know about their broken up love. Jai comes to know about Sushant`s arrogant behavior on Aditi. He was not able to control himself. He goes very mad. He wanted to show Sushant a glimse of his anger.
So he goes to Sushant`s house and gives him punches in his head with all his anger. Sushant goes out of commission. That night he returns home and he quickly refreshes himself. At that time his mother who does not want Jai to be arrogant and wild sees his fore head injury which came during the fight with Sushant. She gets very sad, but Jai, who does not have time to explain this tells her that he has to leave and stop Aditi, who is actually about to leave to New York to continue with her higher studies there. But he was stopped by Inspector P.K. Waghmare (Paresh Rawal). He takes him to jail and there Jai meets his two cousin brothers Bhalu (Sohail Khan) and Bagheera (Arbaaz Khan) who tells Jai that actually the Rathore family are ruthless fighters who fights and dies for a right cause and that they tells him that Jai`s father Amar Singh Rathore actually died fighting 10 people at a single time which Jai took by surprise since he was told by his mother that Amar Singh Rathore died while trying to stop two groups from fighting. Jai was also very surprised to hear that as a Rathore he has to fulfill three things in his life and those are 1.) Beating up someone 2.) Getting arrested 3.) Riding a horse. Out of those three Jai has already fulfilled the first two of them and he became aware of what he exactly has to do. He asks his brothers to help him escape out of jail so that he could stop Aditi from leaving to New York. Bhalu and Bagheera helps him to get out of Jail by just threatening Waghmare and Jai leaves for the airport in one of Bhalu and Bagheera`s horses. He rides so fast that he reaches the airport in time and he runs very fast to the waiting area. He dodges the security since that would surely consume him time which he did not want to lose. The security alerts the entire police man around that area. A terrorist alarm begins and Jai gets chased by many police man. He almost reaches the departing place and he shouts Aditi`s name and he starts to sing his song `Jaane to nay a Jaane na` . The police surround him and they aim at him with their rifles. But then after hearing what Jai sings, they drop their guard. From the middle of the crowd Aditi comes and she hugs Jai. And they both leave the airport together. They get married and they go abroad for Honeymoon. And they return back after several days and they get greeted by their friends who would be waiting for them in the airport telling Mala their love story. And that is how the story ends.
The movie conveys several messages. And the most important one among them is that, we would never feel the love of a person when ever they are with us. But the worst part is that we could feel it and we would need it so badly only when they get away from us.
An awesome movie to see and an excellent work done by every technician and thus providing a nice and superb entertainment.

Aa Dekhe Zara

The story is about a Photographer, Ray(Neil Nitin)who wants to become the top most photograher in the town. But things does not worked well for him & he loses hopes but then he ask his Granpa for his camera which changes things overnight for him. His Grandpa can reveal the future by the pictures taken from it.Ray who has lost hope in his career thinks that he can use this camera for his own benefit & earn materialistic things. He also get his girl friend Simi (Bipasha Basu) who works as a DJ in a night club. Soon he comes to know by a picture taken form that camera that there are Evil groups headed by a Captain (Rahul dev) who can cause danger to the country & also know about the camera & its functioning & its qualities. The story then is all about how Ray Manages to keep the camera safe from the evils forming a good climax.

The Movie is good, well scripted but lack of creativity, poor direction & screenplay. The dialouges doesn't interest much to the audience. Bipasha is as usual Hot & happening.Neil Nitin is also good but the lack of creative doesn't give him much scope to perform. But th epair looks lovely though Bipasha oly looks cool with John she surely matches with Neil Nitin too.

The story is different but none of the technicians have put any effort making the movie wathing worthwhile. The First half may interest much of the audience but the second half makes the movie an average. Its fails to impress audience giving any reason to them.

The debutante director Jehangir Surti did not direct the movie as his Debut movie. he is god technically but still falied to impress the audience. Hope his second movie crates some magic.

Rocky

Old wine in new bottle. That's the appropriate way to describe Rocky. Since time immemorial, we've watched heroes going on a killing spree to avenge the murder of their beloved. Fighting for the rights. Revolting against injustice. That's the essence of Rocky. Nothing has changed, only the faces have.

The problem with Rocky is that it doesn't even try to step out of the set rules of cinema. It's a typical masala film with loads of songs, generous doses of action scenes, a good dose of London... except an innovative plotline. In fact, the viewer can actually predict the story fifteen minutes into the film.

To sum up, watching Rocky is like revisiting the cinema of 1970s and 1980s, which, unfortunately, is a big yawn today.

Rocky [Zayed Khan], the rebel, hates anything and everything that is wrong... the system... the people, who take things lying down without raising a finger... Rocky cannot accept the indifference towards injustice and the rebel in him revolts. This attitude creates irreconcilable differences between him and his father and their relationship is fraught with friction.

Though his father loves his son, he emphatically disagrees with Rocky's philosophy of life and advises him not to invite trouble unnecessarily by interfering in matters that doesn't concern him, as this could put his life in grave danger. But the defiant Rocky feels, the irresponsible attitude of people is destroying the social fabric of the country.

The family manages to still laugh it off until one day Rocky gets into 'shark infested waters' Anthony [Rajat Bedi].

Rocky's world is shattered when his beloved [Isha Sharvani] is killed right in front of his eyes. He is blamed for everything. His parents take him to London. But the truth is, you cannot run from reality forever. And Rocky returns to avenge the death.

It's difficult to find anything novel in Rocky. You've seen it a zillion times before. In fact, amidst the modern packaging lies an outdated script and an equally outdated execution. This is all the more surprising since director Suresh Krissna has helmed several interesting projects in Hindi and regional films.

Barring a few well executed stunts, there's nothing you carry home. Also, the music comes up at unwanted points. There's a song, whether or not the situation warrants it.

Suresh Krissna's direction is mechanical. This film, in fact, just doesn't look like the work of the accomplished director. Ditto for the script. Himesh Reshammiya's music is sounding the same these days. Barring 'Junoon Junoon' and 'Laagi Ghhute Na', the remaining tracks are plain mediocre. Action scenes are well executed at places.

Zayed does well in stunts, although the role doesn't offer him scope to display histrionics. Isha Sharvani dances exceptionally well, but doesn't get the opportunity to go beyond the mandatory part. Minissha doesn't get scope either, but she does reasonably well. Rajat Bedi is as usual. Suresh Menon tries hard to evoke mirth. Smita Jaykar and Ashwin Kaushal are okay.

On the whole, Rocky is an outdated concept with nothing except action to fall back upon. At the box-office, an also-ran.

Tashan

Director: Vijay Krishna Acharya

Producer: Aditya Chopra
Starring: Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Sanjay Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Yashpal Sharma
Lyrics: Piyush Mishra, Vishal Dadlani, Anvita Dutt Guptan

Writers often think that whatever they have written on paper would go well on the celluloid. Many of them in the past have tried their luck as director and while few of them like Anees Bazmee and Vinay Shukla have not only succeeded in matching their fame as a writer to that of a director, but have shot to more fame.

But writing and direction are altogether different as cheese and chalk. However, the writer of 'Dhoom' and 'Guru', Vijay Krishna Acharya alias Victor is just new to this. When Yash Raj Films couldn't succeed in their bid to release the film in multiplexes, many eyebrows were raised. Every one booked the ticket in single screen theatres, which they had forgotten because of better seats and ambience of multiplexes.

Yash Raj Films have been a torchbearer in Bollywood in terms of content, charisma and its czars, but it looks like the shine of the banner is fast fading away. The downfall of Yash Raj banner started with 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' followed by 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag' and with 'Aaja Nach Le'.

'Tashan' looks like following the same fate at the box office. Like 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' it is all big gloss, like 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag' its all-big talks and like 'Aaja Nach Le' its all-big stars. But, the story ends there because writer-director Vijay Krishna Acharya has nothing to say in his debut film as director of 'Tashan'.

'Tashan' has been promoted for last one month as THE ISHTYLE, THE GOODLUCK and THE PHARMOOLA, but sadly nothing works if you don't have a story to tell. 'Tashan' starts with a call centre executive Jimmy (Saif Ali Khan) being hired to teach some foreign style to a desi don Bhaiyya Ji (Anil Kapoor). Bhaiyya Ji like all other dons has one sexy Monica, called Pooja (Kareena Kapoor) in this case. Pooja is not as pious as her name is and it is quite visible in her toned and chisel shaped body. She has her eyes set on the treasure of his boss and seeks the help of Jimmy to rob her boss.

When beauty calls: Jimmy Jimmy Aa Ja, Jimmy falls prey to the sensuous beauty! The lad and the lasso elope with the don's money and like all other dons, Bhaiyya Ji too looks out for a goon who can bring the money back and kill the duo. As expected the search ends at Bachchan Pande (Akshay Kumar) and he is hired to kill the lover birds.

If you think that you have seen THE PHARMOOLA umpteen times already on the screen, then fix your eyes on THE ISHTYLE . This is like watching costumes of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom once again then please wish THE GOODLUCK to Yash Raj Films. THE DESI MASALA …IN THE INGLISH ISHTYLE fails to hold attention of its viewers.

Don't know who approved the idea of this film ; Aditya Chopra or Jaideep Sahni, but whoever is running the Yash Raj show seriously needs a break or some new head to do the job.

'Tashan' takes on the screen with a lot of marketing and like before it helps the film again to bring the huge footfall on the first day. But, all the style, all the gloss and all the stars fail to help the film to reach an entertaining end. The film starts very well. The viewer is glued to the screen.

The events change at a lightning speed and then enters Akshay Kumar on the screen. Crowd in the front bench is cheering and whistling and suddenly the fizz settles down. The pace is killed by the badly picturised songs. There is no logic in song sequences and tunes of songs are like Vishal Shekhar just emptying their old stock in the Yash Raj yard.

Except 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom', even 'Aaja Nach Le' and 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag' were better films than this. 'Tashan' makes you feel cheated. The makers rob your pockets literally! Except for some action sequences, thanks to Peter Hein, nothing remains with you after leaving the hall.

No Yashraj film has had such a dull music in its history. And, think of choreography of Vaibhavi Merchant, one can say for sure that her heart was somewhere else (Is Sanjay Leela Bhansali listening?), than concentrating on the songs of 'Tashan'. Not even one movement to copy for youngsters!

If Akshay Kumar has rejected an offer from Yash Raj to do one more film for them after 'Tashan', he is right. Probably he knew the fate of 'Tashan' in advance. He does give a solid performance in 'Tashan', but his persona could have been used for more on screen. He has done what he was told to do and he comes out with flying colors. But, his co- stars are no match to him. Saif Ali Khan is like seen here, and gone there kind of gestures.

This seems that he has done this role just because of Bebo. And, Kareena, Ah she is the new sex diva of Bollywood for sure. She looks hot, man. And in that two-piece sequence, she beats even Aishwarya in 'Dhoom 2'. If 'Tashan' fails it's because of its makers.

Had they given a thought to content as well, the result would have been altogether different. Aditya, please pull your socks fast lest it is too late. We respect Yash Raj banner a lot, but the time has come when the banner respects expectations of its fans , too.

Mr White Mr Black Review

It's tough to make a comedy. It's even tougher to make people laugh. With Mr. White Mr. Black you realize that director Deepak Shivdasani's intentions may be sincere, to make a full-on entertainer, but the film fails to transport you to ha-ha-land. It takes off with gusto, but the vehicle runs out of gas suddenly, leaving you stranded midway.

Mr. White Mr. Black borrows heavily from the tried and tested stuff. There's a bit of Gopi Kishan [Suniel Shetty's double role won praise then]. Plus, the usual masala that worked at a point of time. However, despite its uninspiring content, there's no denying that a few scenes do make you flex your facial muscles, even though the jokes are quite childish. Unfortunately, things take a complete U-turn in the second hour, with this comedy proving more of a tragedy for the hapless viewer.

In short, Mr. White Mr. Black is a half-baked fare that tries too hard to entertain, but fails.

Gopi [Suniel Shetty], a simpleton, arrives in Goa from Hoshiarpur. His mission - to hand over a piece of land to his childhood friend Kishen [Arshad Warsi]. Kishen swindles people with a little help from his accomplice [Atul Kale], to earn enough money to educate his sibling Divya [Mahima Mehta], who's studying in London. Kishen, however, has managed to hide his profession from Anuradha [Rashmi Nigam] by cooking up an alibi of a twin brother, Hari, who's the bad guy.

Kishen avoids Gopi like he's bad news. He's not going to give up his flourishing business and travel to Hoshiarpur just to take possession of a measly piece of land. Meanwhile, diamonds worth Rs. 25 crores have been stolen by three girls, who are now holed up in Goa. Kishen traces the three girls and succeeds in robbing the diamonds. But the diamonds actually belong to a don, Laadla [Ashish Vidyarti], who has also reached Goa.

That Deepak Shivdasani has an eye for style is visible at the very outset, when the three girls perform a heist in broad daylight. The film actually starts off with a bang! A few portions thereafter are equally interesting, but the writing suddenly deviates into unwanted territories in the second hour.

Take, for instance, Suniel's character. He wants Arshad to return to Hoshiarpur to fulfill a promise, but the reasons don't come across strongly. Note another point. When the three girls realize that the diamonds have been robbed from their locker and they begin a search for Arshad, the story suddenly shifts to various sub-plots: The love interest, followed by the mandatory songs, another 15-20 minutes are devoted to Arshad's sister's marriage and much later, the original owner of the resorts [Sadashiv Amrapurkar] re-appears on the scene. The three girls eventually show up in the climax. Truly, the second half is chaotic!

Deepak Shivdasani shows a flair for comic fares, but is letdown by a hotchpotch screenplay. Music is equally ineffective. 'Samundar' and Gopi Kishan are average compositions, but the remaining tracks are lackluster. Thomas Xavier's cinematography, surprisingly, lacks sheen.

Suniel Shetty repeats his act without any variation. Ditto for Arshad, who is livewire in some portions only. Amongst ladies, Anishka Khosla [resembles Preity Zinta from some angles] is an okay actress. But what is the talented Sandhya Mridul doing in a film like this? Rashmi Nigam looks pretty, that's it! Sharat Saxena is the only actor who stands out. Ashish Vidyarthi is loud. Shehzad Khan is funny. Vrajesh Hirjee and Upasana Singh's track is half-baked. Manoj Joshi deserved a better role. Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Atul Kale are passable.

On the whole, Mr. White Mr. Black promises only a few moments of laughter, which isn't enough. At the box-office, an also-ran!
